Moving Woes

I haven’t posted to this blog for a while because I was busy packing and moving. My husband and I purchased our first place and we moved in September 30. We have been anticipating this for a while and it has finally come. The whole experience was quite overwhelming though. Here I thought packing up the boxes in our tiny apartment while trying to operate a business was trying, but once we landed in our new pad, we discovered the previous owners decided to have a hay day with the place before they left; leaving garbage on the front porch, black marks all over the walls, dirty carpets and an extraordinary (not in a good way) smell throughout the place. In addition, we had ordered a couch that was to be delivered the very next day. Because we were getting a new couch, we tossed the old one….let’s just say, that couch has yet to be delivered and we have been making full use of our fold-out chairs.

So here I am, thinking I’m going to finish up some client projects the night we move in, but didn’t take the mess into consideration and worked all night and all the next day cleaning. Overwhelmed was definitely an understatement.

We are slowly but surely getting settled and I am busy working on client projects. I’m actually tucked away in my new office, happy to work with clients rather than face the mess that is currently our home. It will get done though, I’m confident of that (my husband gets home at 6:30!).
